I love these "Painted Hills". Some of the layers of these hills are mineral rich and reflect it in their colors. Others are not; layers devoid of any nutrient value because of the silt, sand, and water filtering through them and evacuating all the small particle sized grains. Parts of these hills are also fossilized, just like the trees.
